In this scene, the spirits embodied here are between heaven and hell. They are held in a state of unrest awaiting instruction from the necromancer who commands them, but it is ensured that they will meet an absolute end soon, whether that be to return to the underworld or to ascend to a higher material plane. This card is a reminder of the cycles of life and death. Everything comes to an end, but new beginnings are sure to follow. The appearance of this card is a sign of a transition, though this transition is not abrupt. It occurs due to mindful reasoning and thought. The necromancer has studied her art to bring forth the outcomes she desires, representing a well-thought-out plan that will come to fruition through dedicated work and forethought. This card inspires us to rely on our more logical thoughts rather than relying on intuition.
